Crowe and Blanchett team up

Now here’s a pairing that just might work. Ridley Scott’s long-planned Robin Hood movie, starring Russell Crowe, has been through a fair bit of turmoil even before its cameras roll: a rewrite, a title change (it was formerly “Nottingham,” but is now seeking a new title), and a departure of its original Maid Marian, Sienna Miller. Variety reports that the great Cate Blanchett, who you’d think would have enough on her hands what with running a theater company and all, will play the role. Crowe and Blanchett have never shared a screen before; the result could well be electric. Filming begins in April, for a release next year.
Now, alas, I can’t get the “Men in Tights” song out of my mind. Damn.
