Linney, McAvoy, Banks filming in Seattle this summer

Thanks to reader Juanita Kang who alerted me to this Variety item: “The Details,” a black comedy written and directed by Jacob Estes (“Mean Creek”), will shoot in Seattle this summer, starring James McAvoy, Elizabeth Banks and Laura Linney. McAvoy (so good in “Atonement”) and Banks will play a couple coping with an infestation of raccoons in their yard. No, that doesn’t sound like much of a plot to me either, but some movies defy description. And any movie with Linney is always worth a look.
Off to boldly go to “Star Trek” with a gang of nice people wearing costumes. I’ve not previously met this group of ST fans, who kindly invited me to join them at Cinerama, and must find their leader in the ticket line guided only by the knowledge that he is wearing a science division tunic. (I now know what that is, thanks very much.) The question is, how many people at Cinerama tonight will be wearing science division tunics? I’ll let you know tomorrow. Or maybe I’ll see you there.
