Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and a train: “North by Northwest”

While I was away, my friend and colleague John Hartl had a terrific piece in the Sunday paper about the films of 1959, his favorite movie year. Check it out; it’ll put you in the mood to watch a lot of 50-year-old movies, particularly this one. Here’s a classic scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s “North by Northwest,” a movie often imitated but never equalled. The snappy dialogue, the chemistry, the way Grant takes a moment to leave a tip . . . aaaaahhhh.

On that delicious note, after working all last weekend, I’m off until Monday. Happy movie-going!
