Popcorn & Prejudice: A Movie Blog

In case you’re going to Pacific Place . . .

I spend a LOT of time at Pacific Place, because movies often have press-screenings there. (Sometimes the kids at the theater’s popcorn counter say, “Oh, hi, you were here yesterday.”) Just day before yesterday I was there from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., for four movies and a subsequent and much-needed drink. I know that much-cheaper parking starts after 5 (and that the parking-garage clock always seems a little slow), that a bottle of Diet Coke can be had at the Mexican restaurant counter on the top floor (because the theater’s fountain Diet Coke always tastes funny), and that in Theater 9, the entrance-side aisle seat in the sixth or seven row of the upper section is broken and has been for a long time (because I inevitably forget and sit in it). But I didn’t know, until I was perusing the Pacific Place website the other day in search of parking prices, that there are various deals to be had at the PP restaurants if you have a same-day movie ticket stub from the theater. Like, free garlic fries with a beverage order at Gordon Biersch, or free bruschetta or dessert with an entree order at Il Fornaio. This is a decent deal, and one that I’m guessing is little-known. Anyway, here’s the scoop; happy eating.
