Blomkvist. Mikael Blomkvist.

Well, this is interesting. Despite plenty of talk about Brad Pitt, word is today from Deadline that James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, just might be playing crusading Swedish journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the English-language version of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” to be directed by David Fincher. I’m just now reading “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest,” so Blomkvist is very much with me at the moment — and yes, I can see Craig in the role far easier than Pitt. Not a bad idea, if they must remake the thing. (Though I still think Philip Seymour Hoffman or Jeremy Renner would be even better.) By the way, the Swedish version of “The Girl Who Played With Fire” comes to Seattle theaters July 9.
