A “Mad Men” moment

Missing “Mad Men” Mondays? Me too. I’m thinking about the show today, after reading that negotiations are being dragged out yet again (this also happened two years ago) between series creator Matthew Weiner, AMC and Lionsgate. No contracts are in place for the fifth season, and the actors’ options are set to expire before the end of the year. Deadline’s TV editor, though, notes that she’s heard that the studio intends to renew the actors’ contracts and that signs look good for a fifth season. I hope she’s right; I couldn’t bear to leave things with Don and that pretty cipher that is Megan. In the meantime, while we cross our fingers, we can read recent interviews with John Slattery (who’s hoping “Mad Men” will last long enough for Roger Sterling to try out platform shoes), Matthew Weiner (talking about Jon Hamm), and Christina Hendricks. And watch this clip from “The Suitcase,” already getting named as one of the best TV episodes of 2010. And wait until July.
