Julianne Moore to play Sarah Palin

I seem to be having a Julianne Moore-themed 24 hours. Last night, I watched the not-very-good indie film “Elektra Luxx,” which features an entirely uncredited cameo by Moore — and, since it’s not a movie I’d expect to see her in, and since my TV is not all that big (I’m very jealous of all the people who wrote in yesterday boasting about their fabulous home theaters), I spent most of the scene thinking, wow, that woman really looks like Julianne Moore. And sounds like her. And has the exact same hair. And — wait a minute, it’s her!
And, just today, pops up more Moore news: She’ll be playing Sarah Palin in “Game Change,” an HBO movie based on Mark Halperin and John Heilemann’s book about the 2008 presidential campaign. Jay Roach will direct, and though he’s best known for the “Meet the Parents” movies (which are nothing to hold his head high about, especially the later two), he also directed a similar HBO project — the movie “Recount,” about the aftermath of the 2000 election. I didn’t see it, but heard some good things about it. Anyway, this all sounds intriguing. Politics aside (and let’s not argue politics here on P & P; there are plenty of other places you can do that), who do you think will play Barack Obama? Joe Biden? John McCain? And what do you think of Moore’s casting?
