A pirate’s life for he?

Last night, at the Pirates of the Caribbean (hang on for the review — but I’ll say that I was very disappointed), a crew of Seafair Pirates dropped by for the Pacific Place screening, swaggering around with their swords and hats and bells. (Why would a pirate have bells on? Don’t they like to sneak up on people? Very mysterious. I could hear the jingle all through the movie; guess one of them was a fidgeter.) Midway through the movie, I saw the unmistakeable light of an iPhone from what seemed to be their reserved row — was one of the pirates, perhaps, committing piracy? And is checking Facebook during a movie somehow worse when a pirate does it?
