Lynn Shelton’s “Your Sister’s Sister” finds a buyer

Well, that was quick: Seattle filmmaker Lynn Shelton’s “Your Sister’s Sister,” which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival Sunday night, has been picked up for North American and Latin American distribution by IFC Films. It will be released theatrically in the U.S. next summer. Other distributors picked up the rights for the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.
Filmed in Seattle and the San Juan Islands, “Your Sister’s Sister” stars Emily Blunt, Rosemarie DeWitt as a pair of sisters and Mark Duplass as Blunt’s character’s best friend. It is the fourth feature for Shelton, whose previous work includes “We Go Way Back,” “My Effortless Brilliance,” and “Humpday,” all filmed in the Pacific Northwest.
In other distribution news out of TIFF today, Andrea Arnold’s “Wuthering Heights” was acquired by Oscilloscope Laboratories, which plans a 2012 theatrical release.
