A documentary series at the Uptown

I guess this is Documentary Day at P & P. Just got an announcement from SIFF that they’re presenting a week of the year’s best documentaries starting next Friday, January 20. The schedule includes both films that have already played here (though, in most cases, quite briefly), and a few that haven’t surfaced yet (such as “Undefeated,” the football doc directed by former Seattleite T.J. Martin, currently on the shortlist for Oscar nomination). Info on the series isn’t yet posted on www.siff.net, but here’s what I know: All screenings are at the Uptown, and you can get a series pass for $50 (or $30 if you’re a SIFF member). Individual tickets are $10. Here’s the schedule; watch SIFF’s website for more information. Those marked with an asterisk (*) are on the Oscar shortlist of 15 documentaries; the five finalists will be announced Jan. 24.
