“The Hunger Games” eats up the weekend

So you’ve probably all heard it by now: “The Hunger Games” roared into movie theaters with a take of $152 million (down slightly from earlier estimates of $155 million) — making it the third biggest opening of all time (behind “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” and “The Dark Knight”) and the biggest non-sequel opening ever. And, from what I’ve been hearing — from my teenage niece and nephew reporting on their friends’ reviews; from the young women I overheard at the mall; from my friend Terri who sat in a crowded theater on opening day — everyone seems pretty happy with Gary Ross’s take on the blockbuster novel, and very happy with Jennifer Lawrence’s performance. What did you think?
