Some early Oscar-host talk: Jimmy Fallon?

Seems awfully early to talk about the Oscars, but some people are already doing just that: The Los Angeles Times reported this morning that Jimmy Fallon was in talks to host the 2013 Academy Awards telecast, with Lorne Michaels to produce. Intrigued? Well, Nikki Finke over at Deadline.com says it’s all nonsense and isn’t going to happen. We shall see. I suppose it isn’t that much earlier than last year, when we were told in early September that Eddie Murphy and Brett Ratner had the job — and we all remember how well that turned out, don’t we?
I’m still thinking that Steve Martin and Tina Fey should jointly host. Or Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin, in an “All of Me” reunion. But I’m not holding my breath.

Just for fun.
