“The Great Gatsby” moves to next year

Well, count me disappointed. Warner Bros. announced today that Baz Luhrmann’s much-anticipated (and wonderfully cast) adaptation of “The Great Gatsby” has been abruptly moved from its Christmas 2012 release date to an unspecified Summer 2013 slot. The reason? Because WB execs seem to think it’ll get a bigger audience in the summer. At least that’s what they’re saying. So, cross this one off your Oscar-potential list; we’ll catch up with Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire’s Nick Carraway, and Carey Mulligan’s Daisy Buchanan next year.
