An even better ‘Marigold Hotel’?

“The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” was a surprise hit early this summer, and plans are in the works for a sequel. Vulture reports this morning that, in additional (presumably) to the already star-studded cast of Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and Penelope “Cousin Isobel” Wilton, Helen Mirren and Colin Firth are in talks to join the cast. Bring it on! Alan Rickman, where are you?
In other Brit news (other than that royal baby everyone’s talking about), BBC One and BBC Drama have announced that they will adapt J.K. Rowling’s new novel “The Casual Vacancy” into a television series, to air in 2014. Rowling is said to be planning to “collaborate closely” with the project. I can’t seem to muster up enough enthusiasm to read this book, but maybe I should; have any of you enjoyed it?
