Oscar morning, by the numbers

It’s finally getting light out; in celebration, a few noteworthy numbers:
14: Number of minutes elapsed between the conclusion of the nominations announcement, and the receipt of my first press-release email touting a contender (congratulations, “Death of a Shadow,” best live action short!)
12: Number of nominations received by “Lincoln,” leading the pack this year
14: Number of previous movies that received 12 nominations (most recently “The King’s Speech”)
11: Number of previous movies that received more than 12 nominations (the record: 14, held by “Titanic” and “All About Eve”)
5: Number of current supporting actor nominees who are past Oscar winners
2: Number of current supporting actress nominees who are past Oscar winners
9: Age of best actress nominee Quvenzhane Wallis (“Beast of the Southern Wild”), the youngest nominee in the category in history
85: Age of best actress nominee Emmanuelle Riva (“Amour”) , the oldest nominee in the category in history
1: Number of best picture nominees this year that were released in 3D (“Life of Pi”)
4: Number of this year’s acting nominees who have never been nominated before (Hugh Jackman, Bradley Cooper, Wallis, Riva)
1: Number of this year’s acting nominees who are British (Daniel Day-Lewis)
3: Number of this year’s acting nominees who are Australian (Jackman, Jacki Weaver, Naomi Watts)
0: Previous nominations in cinematography, for a James Bond movie (“Skyfall” received a nod in this category, for Roger Deakins)
48: Number of career nominations for composer John Williams (nominated this year for “Lincoln”; he has the most nominations of any living person)
1: Number of original song nominees for which I can actually hum a few bars (“Skyfall,” though in theory I should remember how the “Les Mis” song goes, but I don’t)
1: Number of Diet Cokes I had before 8 a.m. Just Wrong, I know.
