. . . “Lucky Them,” an “un-romantic comedy” that Paul Newman was working on before his death in 2008. The story of a female music journalist hunting down her musician ex-boyfriend in Seattle, “Lucky Them” is directed by Megan Griffiths (who impressed a lot of us with “Eden” in SIFF last year, and previously directed “The Off Hours”). Toni Collette, Thomas Haden Church and Oliver Platt star in the film; Joanne Woodward is an executive producer. Filming began here January 26 (Newman’s birthday), with more than 60 local cast and crew members hired, and is expected to continue through the end of February. Should anyone catch a glimpse of the production, let the rest of us know!
