‘Before Midnight’ coming soon

For Richard Linklater completists: News came today that “Before Midnight,” the last movie in Linklater’s trilogy starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, will arrive in theaters in New York and Los Angeles May 24, and in Seattle likely in June (possibly debuting at SIFF? Just a guess). Linklater’s been turning out these movies, which are charmingly talky romances, at nine-year intervals: “Before Sunrise” came in 1995; “Before Sunset” in 2004. Sony Classics also announced release dates for two other high-profile titles: Pedro Almodovar’s “I’m So Excited,” with Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, will arrive in NY/LA in late June, and Woody Allen’s “Blue Jasmine,” with Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin, opens late July. Summer at the movies is suddenly looking decent, no?
