Free screening of ‘The Monuments Men’ at SAM

If you’ve been waiting a while to see George Clooney’s “The Monuments Men” (haven’t we all?), there’s a free screening Tuesday night at Seattle Art Museum. Several SAM staffers will be present to discuss the film post-screening; they’ll have valuable perspective, as the film is about a group of museum directors, artists, architects, curators, and art historians who set out to rescue some of the world’s great works of art from Nazi thieves during World War II. 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4,  at SAM’s Plestcheeff Auditorium at 1300 First Ave.; note that tickets are free but you must RSVP here (or by calling the museum box office at 206-654-3121). The museum warns that an RSVP does not guarantee entry as seating is limited; which I’m guessing means “arrive early.”
