A ‘Downton Abbey’ set visit

Not by me, alas, but the Hollywood Reporter, which popped over to Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England, earlier this spring to check in on the fifth season of “Downton Abbey.” No spoilers, just some charming photos of Lady Mary and Lady Edith, in full costume, huddled over an iPhone, and of Carson and the staff lounging around reading the papers. (Wait a minute: have we ever seen Carson sit before?) Apparently, to kill time between scenes, Maggie Smith and Elizabeth McGovern play a word game called Bananagrams, which sounds awfully Downton Abbey-ish. Brief story here; photo gallery here. Oh, and Michele Dockery is quoted as saying, regarding the show’s run, “I’m here till the end, whenever that may be.” Thank goodness.
