An all-female ‘Ghostbusters’

Variety reported this weekend that Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids,” “The Heat”) is in talks with Sony to direct and produce a reboot of “Ghostbusters,” in which the ghostbusting team would be female. (Funny how Feig seems to have suddenly become the go-to guy for female-driven comedy, no?) Who knows if this will actually happen, but it does provide the opportunity for a little Monday-morning speculation on who those Lady Ghostbusters might be. Leaving out a couple of too-obvious choices (Feig regulars Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig), here are a few teams I’d love to see tackling the Stay-Puft Man:

The Team that Just Popped Out of My Head, Without Even Thinking Much About it: Judy Greer, Angela Bassett, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Cate Blanchett. (Amazing, right?)

The British Ghostbusting Team: Helena Bonham-Carter, Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery (yes, she’s funny), Emma Thompson

The Junior Varsity: Emma Stone, Chloe Grace Moretz, Shailene Woodley, Saiorse Ronan

A Random But Nonetheless Awesome Team: Tina Fey, Octavia Spencer, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Christina Hendricks

A Solo Team: You know that Tilda Swinton ain’t afraid of no ghost.

Any thoughts?
