Non-celebrity sightings in Toronto

Well, I could have sworn that I hit the Toronto International Film Festival jackpot in my first ten minutes on Canadian soil; that is, a Celebrity Sighting in the Customs Line. Unfortunately, the woman who I was quite certain was Jessica Chastain (who’s scheduled to be here at TIFF with “Miss Julie” and probably another dozen films too) turned out, on closer inspection, to be holding a Canadian passport. Ah well. Perhaps Jessica would be thrilled to know that she has a Canadian twin. Anyway, here I am, and the fest kicks off in earnest tomorrow so then I’ll have some reviews, and some news. Biggest fest-related  item in the Toronto Star today: some unfortunate TIFF ticket holders had to be told that, due to a computer error, they actually did not have tickets to the big Bill Murray Day screening of “St. Vincent” later this week. Not clear how many people were affected by the glitch, but I bet they’re fuming. Me, I’m off to dinner with a local; movies, movies, and more movies start tomorrow. Stay tuned.
