Damon to return to ‘Bourne’ franchise

Good news for those who like smart action thrillers: Deadline.com reports that Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass will reunite for another “Bourne” franchise film, coming years after they collaborated on “The Bourne Supremacy” and “The Bourne Ultimatim.” Greengrass, who directed the Oscar-nominated “Captain Phillips” last year, said as recently as last December that he was done with the franchise, and Damon also indicated that he had moved on — so this news is a surprise, but a welcome one. Word is that the project is on the fast track, to be a tentpole release for summer 2016 — nudging out another competing “Bourne” release, starring Jeremy Renner.
