A big day for Scarecrow Video

A couple of months ago, Scarecrow Video made a big announcement: After struggling financially for several years, the store would transition into a nonprofit corporation. A successful Kickstarter campaign was completed last month, and this Saturday (Oct. 18) marks the first day of Scarecrow’s new life. (It is also, not coincidentally, the 4th annual International Video Store Day.) It’ll be a day of celebration at the store, with festivities to include all Criterion DVDs at 50 percent off, additional special discounts, trivia games, bingo, music, prizes, and general good cheer. It’s all at 5030 Roosevelt Way N.E. in Seattle, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
