‘Into the Woods’: They’re singing!

It’s become fashionable, for some reason, for studios to release trailers for movie musicals in which nobody sings. (They are, apparently, afraid that people will say “OH MY GOD THEY’RE SINGING!” and stay away in droves.) Trailers for “Chicago,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Les Miserables” (which is nuts; there’s practically no dialogue in that one) and an earlier promo for “Into the Woods” had no singing — but I’m happy to report today that Disney has apparently decided to own the fact that yes, “Into the Woods” is a musical, and has released a trailer full of singing. Meryl Streep, in particular, sounds gorgeous, but we knew that.

Now just try to get that title tune out of your head.
