An Oscar-night musical

Depending on how you feel about musicals, this news may delight you immeasurably or send you screaming from your screen . . . The Academy announced today that Oscar host Neil Patrick Harris (oh, come on, you knew he was going to sing, didn’t you?) would perform, on Oscar night, “an original multimedia musical sequence,” called “Moving Pictures” and to be written by last year’s Oscar-winning “Frozen” team of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. “Original multimedia musical sequence,” I assume, means a song with some film in it. Hey, at least he’s not going to sing “Let It Go.” Here’s hoping John Travolta introduces him.
