One of two Bellingham marijuana stores expecting to open at 8 a.m. Tuesday will instead open later in the week, citing issues with the processors supplying its product.
2020 Solutions, in a news release late Monday, said it expected deliveries from two processors early Tuesday, but both “hit regulatory snags” with the state’s Liquor Control Board.
“We sincerely apologize to our customers for this late change in our plans,” said Aaron Nelson, the store’s senior vice president of operations, adding that customers who do arrive will receive free donuts and coffee.
“We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience experienced by people who will come here Tuesday planning to make legal marijuana purchases on this historic day,” Nelson said in the release. “We hope to have marijuana for sale and open the store later this week.”
That leaves one other store in Bellingham, Top Shelf Cannabis, expecting to open at 8 a.m. Tuesday. It also cuts the expected number of stores to open statewide Tuesday to five.
