Two pot stores are opening next week; why they matter

Two pot shops are opening next week. The first, Herbal Nation, will open in Bothell. It will be just the second retail marijuana store open in the Seattle area. The other, Green Life Cannabis, is opening up near Wenatchee, a city that has banned marijuana businesses.

Herbal Nation in Bothell says it will open on Monday, August 18 at noon, wrote Lauren Downes in an email. Downes said Herbal Nation is “an upscale retail shop whose core values are safe and responsible use of cannabis.”

Meanwhile, Green Life Cannabis says it will open on August 23 at 10 a.m. Green Life is in in Chelan County. “The City of Wenatchee currently has a moratorium on Marijuana sales,” said the company in a news release. “Green Life Cannabis is conveniently located just outside city limits on the north end of town… allowing them to legally operate and serve the people of Wenatchee.”
