Daily Rant & Rave: If you have to fall, do it in Fremont

RAVE To all the kind and helpful bystanders, volunteers and EMTs who assisted my 86-year-old father when he fell and then fainted at the Fremont Solstice Parade. Bystanders and volunteers bandaged and covered my father with their jackets, called 911 and found me in the crowd. Seattle folks made a very positive impression on this scraped up, out-of-town visitor. Thank you all!

RANT Regretfully, a rant for the city personnel who coordinated the 520 bridge closure, partial I-90 closure, north Highway 99 closure, and street closures in downtown Seattle on a recent Saturday. My visiting friends from San Francisco were surprised and horrified (and delayed) by this concatenation of road fail, which is saying something for those of us who have ever driven in San Francisco!
