Daily Rant & Rave: Leash laws are for everyone

RAVE To the woman who gave a stuffed horse to my weeping 4-year-old granddaughter at Redmond Derby Days. She was hot, tired and had just lost her balloon. You offered the stuffed horse to her and her dad, and the tears were replaced with a hug for her new horse. Thank you so much!

RANT To dog owners in Volunteer Park who think Seattle’s leash law does not apply to their precious dog. If you let your dog off leash, take responsibility to train your dog to obey your command to stop charging my 5-pound dog that your dog outweighs many many times. And have the courtesy to utter a simple “I’m sorry” when I have to hurriedly scoop up my dog to safety and your dog jumps on me trying to get to my dog. Really, no apology? Keep your dog on a leash if you can’t control it!
