Daily Rant&Rave: Keep dogs off the beach

RAVE To the city of Seattle for allowing bicycles on the sidewalks legally, operating “in a careful and prudent manner” as the law says, to reduce the number of bike accidents. Sidewalks are often the only safe alternative for cyclists and in some cases (Lake Union Loop), bicycles are instructed to ride on the sidewalk.

RANT To people who take their dogs onto the beach at Carkeek Park: To get to the beach, you have to walk right by a sign that says “No dogs, $500 fine.” Dogs are not allowed on beaches at Seattle parks (except for the off-leash area with Lake Washington access at Magnuson Park). Please obey the law. And Seattle Parks, please enforce it!
