Daily Rant&Rave: Don’t harm seagulls

RAVE To U-Park in Pioneer Square for not jacking up the price of early-bird parking for the poor saps who had to come to work during the NFL Seahawks Kickoff event last week.

RANT To the person on a power-washing crew working at a downtown apartment building who chased little seagulls with a pressure-washing hose. We’ve enjoyed watching the nest on the corner of that building for years and no doubt birds were injured or killed by this. The parents of these birds kept flying around while it happened and coming back after the babies were gone. It was a cruel and unnecessary thing to see, and also illegal because of the Seabirds Protection Act.
