Daily Rant&Rave: Bicycles only on Bicycle Sunday

RAVE To the kind, very responsive people who stepped forward to help our 90-year-old friend when he took a bad fall outside Safeco Field as we were leaving the Mariners game. He said it was his last in-person game. Sorry our team lost, but he left feeling good about the people who lifted him off the sidewalk and got him back into an upright position.

RANT To the jerk speeding in a car on Lake Washington Boulevard, when it was closed to traffic for Bicycle Sunday to allow families a safe place to ride. You came close to hitting my 6-year-old daughter, who was bravely riding her bike for the first time on a public street. She was so scared that she cried and said she never wanted to do it again… because of you. And rant to Seattle police for not enforcing safety rules for this city-sponsored and -promoted event.
