Daily Rant&Rave: Hello, found your cellphone

RAVE To the couple who picked up my cellphone from a park bench and called me to say they found it. They met me at the nearby PCC to get it back to me and would only accept my “thank you” to show my appreciation. What a chore and expense it would have been to replace it. Thank you!

RANT To the (not handicapped) family in the SUV who parked in the handicapped parking spot at the post office. On seeing my disapproving scowl, the mother quipped, “we’re rebels.” That’s not the descriptor I’d use; lazy and selfish are more accurate. Is this what you’re teaching your kid in the back seat, that rules are to be obeyed only when convenient, otherwise, it’s “me-me-me, and to heck with anyone else’? Handicap parking is for the physically disabled, not the morally and ethically disabled.
