Daily Rant&Rave: Find out who benefits before donating

RAVE To the Metro driver and passengers who were so helpful and kind when I fell entering the bus and gashed my forehead on the fare box. The driver called Seattle Fire Department medics, and passengers offered first aid and sat with me to be sure I was OK while we waited for them to arrive. I ended up with three stitches but otherwise fine. Seattle can be such a warm, compassionate place when one gets into trouble.
RANT To the veterans “charity” that phoned asking for a donation and, after I asked, told me that only 10 percent of what’s collected goes for the cause. They should be ashamed of using veterans’ good name to fill their greedy pockets. As a proud Navy veteran, I want to tell people to be careful who you donate to.
