RAVE To Seal Sitters volunteers who ensure that baby seal pups on the beach are kept safe while their mothers are hunting for food. I spotted a seal pup in Myrtle Edwards Park and within an hour a volunteer had the area taped off with a sign explaining that the pup needed to be left alone and though it looked abandoned, mom would be coming back, hopefully with dinner. What a cool sight to see on my walk!
RANTTo professional dog walkers who bring eight or more dogs to the dog park and don’t control or clean up after them and are really rude. I’m a dog lover, but they’re ruining the park for me and my dog.
RAVE I’m a recently disabled veteran and went to the Seattle VA Hospital expecting confusion, indifference and red tape. Instead I found the volunteers, fellow veterans and staff all knowledgeable and helpful. The technician who evaluated me got my next appointment in three days, and I was out of the building within an hour with all my questions answered. Great job, Seattle VA Hospital staff!
RANT AND RAVE Rant to parents who let their children roam through retail stores treating everything there as their own. Rave to parents who teach their children to be respectful of property not belonging to them.
RAVE To friends and family who send Christmas cards with photos of their families. We love hearing how everyone is doing and seeing the new additions to their families.
RANT To the new movie experience, sitting at tables with the convenience of ordering food and drinks and having them delivered. We don’t begrudge others enjoying beer, wine or food, but having the door constantly opening and shutting flooding light into the theater, servers’ heads bobbing across the bottom of the screen and being asked if we need anything was annoying, to say the least. We paid $11 plus service charges per ticket and the continuous interruptions ruined the experience. Perhaps the servers could stop with all tabs settled before the main attraction begins?
RAVE For our dog walker, who got our pug to the clinic when she found him in distress when we were out of town, and the animal hospital staff who took such good care of him. They did everything possible, but he died just as our flight landed. We’re incredibly appreciative for their caring and for being gracious enough to let us come to the clinic after hours to say our goodbyes. We’re also grateful beyond measure for the comfort of fellow dog owners, family, and friends who understand what it’s like to lose a pet.
RANT To me for never submitting a rave.
