Lower Columbia River spring chinook catch figures

Here are the latest counts from the Lower Columbia River spring chinook sport fishery:

An Oregon Fish and Wildlife aerial count last Friday found 1,613 salmon boats and 345 Oregon bank anglers. Anglers were the most successful in Troutdale where boat anglers averaged 0.34 spring chinook caught per boat.

In the estuary boat anglers averaged 0.26 spring chinook caught per boat, while anglers in Portland (above Hayden Island) as well as those fishing between Portland (below Hayden Island) to Longview averaged 0.23 spring chinook caught per boat. Boat anglers in the gorge averaged 0.08 spring chinook caught per boat.
