Tulalip Tribe says no crab gear will be in the water when the sport Tulalip Bubble Fishery opens June 5

A quick follow up to a blog story I had yesterday in regards to the Tulalip Bubble Chinook Fishery that opens next Friday (June 5).

“There won’t be any crab fishery at least for the first two weekends of the bubble fishery,” said Kit Rawson with the Tulalip Tribal fisheries office.

Rawson said they’re also working on gear separation if there is a need for any crab gear conflict in the future.

The bubble fishery will be open June 5-19, and fishing is open Fridays through noon on Mondays only. Fishing is closed on June 20, and then reopens June 21-Sept. 7 on the same schedule.

Anglers should find some early mature chinook when it opens as the Tulalip Tribes has gone to an earlier timed run of hatchery fish.
