Extreme angler takes on the strange fish of the world on Animal Planet Network

The second season of River Monster’s premieres at 7 p.m. PT April 25 on the Animal Planet Network, and extreme angler and biologist Jeremy Wade is sure to thrill viewers with some of the most spectacular catches of behemoth-sized freshwater fish from around the world.

This season Wade travels to Southeast Asia on the Mekong River in Thailand to track the largest freshwater stingray, which is a UFO shaped monster that is known to measure 16 feet long and seven feet across, and weigh about 1,300 pounds.

The fish also possesses an 18 inch barbed stinger that could inflict a painful venom into its victims.

In other episodes Wade will try his luck to prove the authenticity of an Alaskan native legendary giant fish that is fabled to drag people from their boats into an icy grave.

Join Wade as he wades through the Zambezi River in Zambia for the bull shark and the Congo River in central Africa for the goliath tiger fish.

Wade will also be traveling with fishing pole in hand to South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia and Florida to catch some of the most unique wild fish in the world.

In one episode Wade even goes after a shark that lives 100 miles inland from the nearest ocean, and a fish that has teeth the size of a lions’s
