Kokanee action heating up at two local lakes

The kokanee are starting to bite at two lakes in the Puget Sound region.

At Lake Stevens the biggest ones are going 15 inches, and they’re being caught all over the place and aren’t schooling in one particular area. Most are being caught right on the surface.

At American Lake the kokanee bite has been hit or miss, but there have been a few rainbow trout mixed into the catch. Try perch rigs tipped with a nightcrawler bait.
