Clam digging good on local beaches

I had a friend who recently went on a clam digging adventure to Hood Canal, and came back with a nice bucket of steamers.

The sport clam season at Point Whitney Lagoon in Hood Canal is open through March 31 for those looking to claim their bounty as well.

Clam harvesting is open on the Point Whitney Tidelands through April 30.

Penrose Point State Park in Pierce County on Carr Inlet is also open for clams and oysters March 1 until further notice.
