Fort Flagler State Park opens for shellfish harvesting this month

The sport shellfish season opens earlier than expected at Fort Flagler State Park located near Port Townsend.

The park located in Jefferson County will be open for clam and oyster harvesting from April 15 through July 31.

Surveys indicate that clam populations have increased, and will support a fishery that is one month longer than in 2010.
