A fair sturgeon catch in Columbia estuary area keeps anglers interested

Here are the latest sturgeon catches from the Lower Columbia River estuary area between May 23-29 where private and charter boat anglers were catching some legal-sized sturgeon.

Fish Checks:

Ports of Chinook/Ilwaco: Seven private boats with 23 anglers caught no sturgeon;12 charter boats with 89 anglers caught four sturgeon and released 26.

Knappton/Deep River: Three private boat caught one sturgeon and released one.

Chinook-Knappton: 11 bank anglers released one sturgeon.
