Learn about our National Parks at event hosted by National Parks Conservation Association

The National Parks Conservation Association is hosting a free event titled “Northwest National Park Family Day” 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 25 at The Mountaineers Program Center in Magnuson Park.

The event is open to get everyone familiarized with National Parks in the Pacific Northwest, along with outdoor activities and conservation in general.

There will also be an educational activity to teach people on how to plan a visit to a nearby national park, and to inspire them to get outdoors and learn about parks like Mount Rainier, Olympic and North Cascades.

Other activities include National Parks Rangers giving presentations; nature puppet show; Native American story teller; kids coloring station; plant jeopard; two rock climbing walls indoor and outdoor; rock climbing 101; and campfire songs and story telling.

For more information visit the National Parks Conservation Association website.
