The Northwest National Park Family Day brings the parks to people at a free event 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the Mountaineers Program Center in Magnuson Park.
Those who attend the event will hear from park rangers about the national and cultural history of our national parks, meet some of the wildlife that live in our northwest parks, hear from a Native American storyteller, play plant jeopardy, and see a nature puppet show.
Kids will also have the opportunity to take Rock Climbing 101 and the first 250 kids to complete the Junior Ranger Program will receive a free packet of collectible animal-shaped Silly Bandz!
The event is hosted by the National Parks Conservation Association and the National Park Service. This year’s sponsors are Puget Sound Energy, Slalom Consulting, REI, The Mountaineers, KCTS 9, NWCN, the Olympic Park Institute, and 103.7 The Mountain.
