Ocean salmon fishing going strong off Washington coast

Here are the ocean salmon fishing figures provided by state Fish and Wildlife:

Ilwaco: 424 anglers June 26 with 126 chinook and 357 hatchery-marked coho for 1.14 fish per rod average (0.30 for chinook and 0.84 for hatchery-marked coho). Sport catch quotas are 33,600 hatchery-marked coho and 7,400 chinook.

Hatchery-marked chinook only fishery June 20-25: 406 anglers caught 191 chinook for 0.47 catch per rod average.

Westport: 836 anglers June 26 caught 362 chinook and 223 hatchery-marked coho, plus 10 pinks for 0.71 fish per rod average (0.43 for chinook and 0.27 for hatchery-marked coho). Sport catch quotas are 24,680 hatchery-marked coho and 16,900 chinook.

Hatchery-marked chinook only fishery June 20-25: 2,487 anglers caught 1,226 chinook for 0.49 catch per rod average.

La Push: 69 anglers June 26 caught 13 chinook and 49 hatchery-marked coho, plus five pinks for 0.97 fish per rod average (0.19 for chinook and 0.71 for hatchery-marked coho). Sport catch quotas are 1,700 hatchery-marked coho and 1,350 chinook.

Hatchery-marked chinook only fishery June 20-25: 86 anglers caught 11 chinook for 0.13 catch per rod average.

Neah Bay: 118 anglers June 26 caught 61 chinook and 61 hatchery-marked coho, plus 23 pinks for 1.23 fish per rod average (0.51 for chinook and 0.52 for hatchery-marked coho). Sport catch quotas are 6,990 hatchery-marked coho and 3,200 chinook.

Hatchery-marked chinook only fishery June 20-25: 287 anglers caught 111 chinook for 0.39 catch per rod average.

Coastwide: 1,447 anglers June 26 caught 561 chinook and 690 hatchery-marked coho, plus 38 pinks for 0.89 fish per rod average (0.39 for chinook and 0.48 for hatchery-marked coho). Sport catch quotas are 67,200 hatchery-marked coho and 28,900 chinook.

Hatchery-marked chinook only fishery June 20-25: 3,265 anglers caught 1,539 chinook for 0.47 catch per rod average.
