Congratulations to our Reel Time Pacific Northwest fishing and outdoor trivia contest winner Marty Matthias of Bellevue who said the answer was the “Quillayute River.”
Matthias caught his first fish in 1956 at the age of 5, and it was a humpy (pink salmon) caught trolling with a dodger and whole herring at Lagoon Point on Whidbey Island with family friends.
“I’ve been fishing ever since, freshwater and saltwater,” Matthias said.
About 55 percent of our readers got the right answer. Look out for the next trivia question when I post it on Monday morning.
Matthias wins a book titled River Monsters by Jeremy Wade, host of River Monsters on the Animal Planet Network and some Berkley Power Bait Products.
This will be an ongoing weekly trivia contest through the summer where the winner who answers the question first will receive an outdoor prize that will range from books, Berkley bait, lures and other nifty items from the outdoors gunnysack.
The next trivia question will be posted on Monday, July 18.
Here are our rules for The Seattle Times contest.
