Columbia River salmon and steelhead return updates

Here are the Columbia River salmon and steelhead return updates:

Fall URB chinook return at the river mouth is 331,900 compared to pre-season forecast of 399,600.

Fall BPH chinook return at the river mouth is 68,100 compared to pre-season of 116,400.

Steelhead upriver total return at Bonneville Dam is 360,500, and includes 51,100 Group B steelhead compared to pre-season of 366,800.

Coho at Bonneville Dam early stock is 124,700 compared to pre-season of 44,800. Late stock counts begin Oct. 1.

Coho at river mouth early stock is 173,000 in hand, and could reach 260,000. Technical Advisory Committee will meet tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept. 28) to update run size. Pre-season is 168,500. Late stock is too early to make in-season updates, and pre-season is 102,300.
