ADA anglers have good fishing access to catch coho and hatchery chinook

ADA anglers have a couple of fishing options to pursue starting this weekend to take advantage of a surplus return of coho and hatchery chinook.

The ADA Accessible Fishing Areas at the Bingham Creek Hatchery and at Forks Creek Hatchery will be open to anglers who possess a reduced-fee disability fishing license.

Bingham Creek and Forks Creek will be open Oct. 15 through Jan. 31. A night closure and single point barbless hooks ruling is required.

Minimum size is 12 inches. Daily limit is six salmon, and up to three adults may be retained. Release wild (unmarked) chinook and chum.

The designated ADA fishing areas at both are from Bingham Creek Hatchery barrier dam downstream 400 feet, and in Fork Creek from adult weir at Forks Creek Hatchery upstream approximately 500 feet.

Anglers and/or harvesters (with an appropriate designated harvester card) must follow all applicable fishing regulations for the Satsop River when fishing at Bingham Creek Hatchery and regulations for the Willapa River (below Fork Creek) when fishing at Forks Creek Hatchery.

Anglers and harvesters must yield ramp access to persons permanently using a wheelchair.
