Congratulations to Thomas Smiley of Tacoma who is this week’s Reel Time Trivia winner, and answered first by saying it was the “Kennedy Creek.”
“I’ve been fishing since I was a little kid with my dad,” Smiley said. “I really got into fishing when my family moved up to the Seattle area in 1989. I got into salmon fishing right away.”
Smiley said as he grew up and moved out, he continued to fish mostly for salmon and mix in a little lake fishing to fill in when salmon are out of season.
“I’ve mostly fished rivers, since I don’t have a boat. But, since my dad is now retired he has gotten a boat and we fish the sound from time to time.”
You’ll often find Smiley plying the waters close to his home like the Puyallup, Nisqually, Skokomish, Minter Creek and Green River.
“I’ve also done some fishing from the Point Defiance Pier,” Smiley said. “I really like fishing because it’s a good time to relax and not have to worry about much.”
Smiley wins a nice outdoor book.
This will be an ongoing weekly trivia contest through the summer and early fall where the winner who answers the question first will receive an outdoor prize that will range from books, Berkley bait, lures and other nifty items from the outdoors gunnysack.
The next trivia question will posted on Monday, Oct. 17. Winners are announced the following Friday.
