Star viewing event happening this Friday at Mount Rainier National Park

Families and individuals of all ages are invited to the Paradise area of Mount Rainier National Park for a special “star viewing party” at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28.

The event starts at 8:00 PM in the plaza in front of the Jackson Visitor Center at Paradise. If the sky remains clear the event will last until at least 10:30 p.m. The outdoor star gazing will be made available by Tacoma Astronomical Society volunteers and their telescopes.

If weather makes star gazing difficult the party will be canceled. Please contact the Longmire Museum at 360-569-6575 in the afternoon on Friday for a weather/cloud update. After the Museum closes at 4:30 p.m. a recorded message will provide information about the star party status.

For more information visit the Tacoma Astronomy Society website. For general park information visit the Mount Rainier National Park website or call 360-569-2211.
